A Beautiful Loch Lomond Wedding at Ardoch

Maddie and James were planning their wedding at the same time as they were relocating from London to Scotland. With James having been brought up here, they decided to leave the busy London lifestyle behind and move back to Scotland with its glorious scenery. Both James and Maddie love the outdoors and wanted this to be reflected at their wedding. Ardoch at the edge of Loch Lomond therefore seemed to be the ideal venue for their wedding.

Ardoch

Ardoch is an elegant exclusive use venue at the southern edge of Loch Lomond and the National Park. From the gardens of Ardoch, guests will get the most incredible views across the loch, framed by the Trossachs and the magnificent Ben Lomond. The venue with the original Victorian buildings as well as the airy modern extension lends itself particularly well to smaller, more intimate weddings.

The function room was beautifully decorated with the help of Maddie’s and James’ family who had added a lot of personal touches and photos of the couple. Maddie’s sister had baked all three wedding cakes and her mother had arranged the beautiful bouquets for the bride and her bridesmaids!

James and Maddie both got ready at Ardoch, which meant that I could spend some time with them in the morning and capture some of the preparations of the wedding day. Thankfully the Scottish weather was kind to Maddie and James, and they had their beautiful wedding ceremony outside with the stunning backdrop of Loch Lomond. The ceremony itself was fun, and filled with laughter. There was a handfasting, and James’ dad had made a wooden quaich for the couple to drink from.

During the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast the lovely staff from Ardoch made sure that the guests were looked after well. The entire day was relaxed and informal and beautifully finished off with a Scottish ceilidh dance.

Maddie’s and James’ wedding for me was a great example of where the input from family members and friends made all the difference and added all those little personal touches that made the day so special.
